Martinez Ranches Inc. has been in the agriculture industry for over 40 years. The company currently farms Almonds, Walnuts, Pistachios, Prunes, Peaches and Apricots. Joe and his staff work hard to keep themselves current with the agriculture industry innovatuions and improvements. He has always showed great passion for agriculture. In high school, he was student body vice president. In FFA, he was president locally, and vice president at the national and state levels. Martinez graduated from Cal Poly with a degree in Pomology(fruit science) in 1972. He obtained a teaching credential at UC Davis. He is also a graduate of the Ag Leadership Program, which gave him a background in international agriculture concerns. He served 10 years on the Solano County Farm Bureau and 22 years on the Yolo County Farm Bureau. He is the current president of the Solano County Farm Bureau, as well as president of the Solano Resource Conservation District.
Joe has a fully staffed maintenance and administration facility that keeps the farm equipment repaired and oversees the daily farm operations. The personnel are well qualified and there is adequate equipment to perform the operations. The Administration staff perform the bookkeeping, pesticide control, labor management, irrigation schedules, nutrient requirements, regulation compliance, equipment management and training schedules.
